So, how many of you love that video game called Guitar Hero?

Now, how many of you who answered "yes" are sick of all the haters that keep telling you to "get a real guitar"??

First of all, it doesn't make sense that just because someone enjoys this game it means that he/she has to go and do the REAL thing. In that case, I guess people who play Time Crisis better get a real gun and start shooting people, eh? Or, or how about all those kids who play Call of Duty? Those bastards don't know what it's like to fight a REAL war, I bet. Madden?? Where's your REAL football, bitch?? Trauma Center?? How many REAL patients have you operated on, loser??

Seriously, just stop. It's just a video game, yes, we know. And we get it. I personally have never seen someone who actually thinks that he matches up to Jimmy Page or Slash because he can beat Hangar 18 on Expert. If there IS such a person, then yes, I'll agree with you that that kid needs some serious education, but otherwise, why make such a big deal about it?

I've seen arguments like "it's a threat to actual musicians who work hard to make the music they love" or "it's damaging the artists' reputations because now little kids who know nothing about rock keep playing it!". HOW??? How does a video game that just happens to involve rock music become an impediment to striving musicians? And how does having more "kids" know about a band make it look worse? If anything, the more fans you have, the more successful you'll be, and so I see this as a good way to promote lesser-known bands.

If you guys just hate it because.. well.. you don't like the game, then that's fine. But most of you just hate it because it's nothing like the real thing. And once again, what's wrong with that? This game is just meant to have fun with some good rock/metal tunes. Not all people want to dish out over $1000 for equipment and spend years of training, but as a matter of fact, I HAVE seen people who have become inspired to ACTUALLY pick up a real instrument after playing this game, because THEY ACTUALLY KNOW THAT IT'S NOT A REAL GUITAR. You don't have to keep telling us.

And yes, I am one of those people with a real guitar, thank you very much.
